Profile:

The Legal Counsel will provide legal advice and support to the members of the UEFA Organs for Administration of Justice (Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body, Appeals Body and Adjudicatory Chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body).

 

Purpose:

- Providing legal advice to the UEFA Organs for Administration of Justice in connection with the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations, Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) case law and procedures, and other football regulatory matters;
- Drafting judgments, briefs and legal memoranda in connection with the various cases brought before the UEFA Organs for Administration of Justice;
- Providing administrative support to the UEFA Organs for Administration of Justice;
- Attending hearings of the UEFA Organs for Administration of Justice;
- Drafting official documents in respect of CAS litigation concerning decisions of the UEFA Organs for Administration of Justice;
- Representing UEFA at CAS hearings;
- When required, providing legal support to other UEFA departments as appropriate in connection with the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations and the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations.

Requirements:

Experience required:
- From 4 to 6 years' experience as a lawyer in an independent law firm
- More than 7 years' experience at an international federation in legal matters

Education:
- Bachelor's in law or an equivalent qualification
- Masters in sports law

Languages:
- English / Proficient
- French / Proficient
- Fluent Portuguese would be an asset

Additional requirements:
- MS Office / Advanced
- Project Management / Intermediate
- Excellent drafting, analytical, negotiating and spoken communication skills
- Service-oriented and solution-driven
- Consistent close attention to detail and understanding of the bigger picture
- Excellent command of football regulations
