Senior Legal Counsel Litigation

To support our Legal & Compliance Division, FIFA is looking to recruit a Swiss qualified lawyer with initiative and experience as a Senior Legal Counsel Litigation (Swiss Bar qualification required).

Your duties

• Managing and handling legal proceedings in Switzerland and other jurisdictions internationally
• Advising and supporting the Director of Corporate Legal in relation to all civil and criminal legal proceedings
• Providing legal advice and information, internally and externally
• Managing external counsel
• Overseeing budgetary control
• Attending court, drafting court documents, correspondence and other related administrative tasks
  

Our requirements

• Swiss qualified lawyer (university degree in law and admission to the Swiss Bar)
• At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience working in private practice dealing with contentious matters (both civil claims and criminal investigations)
• Familiarity with Swiss court procedures
• Experience drafting legal documents
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with proven ability to communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authorities etc.), regarding FIFA’s involvement in legal proceedings
• Very good written and spoken English and German, working knowledge of French. Spanish is an asset
• Excellent organisation and deadline management skills
• Ability to work independently and accurately
• Conciliation / mediation skills
• Identification with FIFA’s service-oriented and solution-oriented attitude
