Job Description

To support our Tournaments & Events Division, FIFA is looking to recruit an experienced

Senior Team Services Manager

Your duties

  • Leading the Team Services project (planning and operations) for assigned FIFA Tournaments, including communication with the teams and the counterpart of the local organising committee
  • Managing tournament related events and activities such as Team Workshops and team inspections, whilst ensuring the delivery of an excellent service to the teams at assigned FIFA Tournaments
  • Managing requirements, policies and guidelines and collaborating closely with the Local Organising Committee on their implementation
  • Supporting the Head of Department in the FIFA World Cup project management, as well as overall operational planning and implementation of operations within the FIFA World Cup Team Services project
  • Managing selected departmental projects
  • Supporting the Head of Department with the communication to the relevant FIFA departments on the general provision of Team Services related topics
  • Hiring of Temporary Team Services staff for a tournament, creating a skilled, motivated and well integrated Team Services team
  • Travelling for operational meetings, inspections as well as tournament and events

Our requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a professional football event management environment, FIFA Competitions event organisation experience, in particular FIFA World Cup, preferred
  • Experience in team tournament operations (planning, preparation and implementation) for national teams or first division professional football clubs
  • Experience in dealing with local entities (governmental and other authorities, team facility owners) involved in a football event as well as managing the demands and requirements of federations, teams, players and coaches
  • Excellent understanding of Team Service related areas such as accommodation, travel, transport, security, logistics, media etc and in selection and management of team-related venues and equipment
  • Experience in building and leading a team in the host country
  • Knowledge of budgeting and controlling preferred – in particular from a host perspective
  • Fluent in English, ideally good Ievel of one of the other three FIFA languages (German, French or Spanish) or another language
  • Good project management skills with the ability to prioritise a large workload and work well under pressure
  • Attention to detail, reliable and discrete
  • Excellent communication skills, with individuals from all nationalities and cultural backgrounds with different language abilities
  • Service and solution oriented as well as an ability to handle conflict in a calm and professional manner
  • Creative and innovative thinking, a strong sense of ownership as well as team leader skills
  • Willingness to travel
